Even though an actual project is not a complicated event, it does certainly have some major characteristics that really change it from the most common activities. A project is defined as a piece of a planned work that has a defined beginning and end in time, scope, and resources. Project management is the application of knowledge, tools, skills, and techniques that are needed in order to meet project requirements. When it comes to a project it is also an event that accomplishes a single goal. Some examples of this include the building of a software or portable application, the construction of buildings, and a clean-up after a natural disaster. Therefore project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirement (PMI.org, 2015). In this paper I will be discussing the differences and similarities between to project models- waterfall and interactive- and discuss how to help with picking the best method for a project.
